University Park real estate is comprised of seven tracts of condos and homes. It is one of two neighborhoods that surround the University of California Irvine campus. Centrally located, University Park is close to a wide array of amenities, including movie theaters, parks, shopping centers and the cultural venues of Irvine.
Much of the real estate in University Park is single-family homes, and many of the homes were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s. Irvine has many picturesque parks, but many of the locals at University Park frequent the nearby University Community Park. The park stretches over 16 acres with rolling hills and grassy knolls. Designed for the great outdoor sports, the park features three lighted soccer fields, four lighted tennis courts, racquetball courts, handball courts and sand volleyball courts. There are several playground areas for young children. Throughout the picnic areas, there are tables, barbeques and walking paths. For skateboard enthusiasts, there is the Harvard Skate Park. The park is decked out for skateboarding and includes the pyramid, the spine, the bowl and the rails. It’s lit for night skating and has picnic tables, restrooms and bleachers for spectators.
The Strawberry Farms Golf Course is one of Irvine’s public golf courses and is just a minute’s walk from University Park. This premier golf course is an 18-hole championship green that captures the rural beauty and tranquility of the area. It is a preferred course among the local golf enthusiasts and corporate groups. The Oak Creek Golf Club is also popular for golfers at all skill levels. This Tom Fazio course is an 18-hole champion course with tapered fairways, beautiful lakes, scenic greens and bull-nosed carved bunkers.
Irvine is one of the most culturally diverse cities in California, and residents at University Park enjoy cultural experiences at Irvine’s festivals, performing art theaters, museums and much more. The Irvine Barclay Theater is a 760-seat theater that offers a wide range of international performing arts including music and contemporary dance. The Irvine Global Village Festival celebrates the city’s cultural richness. This festival features authentic cuisine, spectacular entertainment and arts and crafts from over 50 cultures, including French, Russian and Indian. Entertainment is always diverse, from Chinese dances to American Jazz to Persian folk music. Residents of University Park are also a short drive from some of California’s most stunning seaside towns, including Dana Point, Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach. Corona Del Mar is a scenic seaside town with popular whale watching cruises. Along its golden beaches, the harbor features chic boutique shops and restaurant dining. Corona Del Mar is burrowed at the foothills of the San Joaquin Hills and offers panoramic water views, along with beaches and tide pools. Charming beach cottages and mansions line the bluff along the sandy coastline of Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach is popular for scuba diving, snorkeling and surfing.
